Similar to physical health, emotional health doesn’t just happen. We need to exercise our emotions the same way we exercise our bodies.
How can we exercise our emotions?
One way is through Generativity: caring for others without expecting anything in return. This is easier than it sounds and can be achieved in three ways.
Fortunately, we don’t need to do all three.
I’m going to focus on Mentoring. Here is what you need to know about Mentoring. You may even be doing this now, and you didn't even realize it!

Mentoring doesn’t cost a thing, and virtually anyone can mentor.
You choose who you want to mentor - here are some examples.
A junior employee
A person wishing to learn a skill (e.g., sports, creative, business)
Colleagues who need your skills to advance an idea
Do you have values, culture, or ideas you want to pass on? A side benefit of mentoring is that you are leaving a legacy. A legacy of your choosing. You get to decide what you want to pass on, and who you want to pass it on to.
You’ll find compelling stories of individuals who mentor others. The benefits they receive from giving back to others is as great and many times greater than that of the mentee. The individuals presented come from a variety of backgrounds and their experiences are varied.
